ARTXANDAPE SCHOOL ORCHESTRAS

In November, students in LH1 and LH2 learnt English through a project called "Veronica". The topic of this project is the orchestra.

During the project they learnt the story "Veronica, the girl who played the violin", they learnt about the musical instruments of the orchestra and about the rituals of an orchestra and they created an orchestra and performed a concert for HH2 and HH3 students. They made bow-ties to wear the day of the concert, as well as programmes and invitations to give to the audience. Besides, LH1 students made musical instruments with card in their art lessons with their tutors. Have a look at the videos of the concerts!

 

 

 

 

MY SCHOOL! PRESENTATIONS WITH THE IPADS

LH2 students worked on the topic "My School" in the first unit. We went around the school taking photos in groups and counting the school materials. They used this information to make Power Point presentations about the different spaces of the school. Finally, they presented their work orally to the rest of the class using these PPTs. LH2A

Working at school

Boys and girls in LH2 have worked on the different natural and artificial elements of the landscape (mountain, river, buildings, rocks,...). We have also started learning about the feelings (happy, sad, cross, hungry,...).

Our students love doing group work and they enjoy themselves while learning with and from each other. Here you have some pictures of their work at school...

Students in LH2 have been learning about abilities. To show the relationship between age and ability they made some posters about babies, children, teenagers, adults andelderly people. 

After making the posters they were given some tips to prepare their presentations and they made an amazing work. Their written and speaking skills are improving while they are having fun preparing this projects.

Autumn Posters

The children in LH2 have been learning about the seasons and the way the trees change during the year. Children had fun and expressed themselves creatively while they were making the collage with natural elements. They all brought different kind of natural things to class, such as leaves, nuts, twigs, mushrooms... and they made a really great work!

Our students are improving their speaking skills, so they prepared the project presentations with that purpose. They are working hard and for sure they are getting more and more confident while talking in English...

Making an inventory

    During the last weeks second grade students (LH2) have learnt the names of the different places and furniture we can find in the school. We also worked on the activities we do in school: read, write, play, sing, draw, ...

    In order to give it a practical overview the children made an inventory of the equipment in both the classroom and the library.
